The Appalachian Route: suggested itinerary


The Appalachian Route consists of 9 individual segments. The order in which they are presented below corresponds to the order that you would follow by clicking on the advance and back-up arrows of their sensitive maps.

Note: Some segments may be part of more than one route. The routes to which the segments belong is indicated by the segments' colour.

* Segment 7: From Montréal to Québec
Chaudière-Appalaches, Coeur du Québec, Greater Québec Area, Montérégie, Montréal. Via Sorel, 300 km (185 mi); via Drummondville, 315 km (195 mi)

You can also take segments 1 and 2 between Montréal and Québec. From Québec, follow the Appalachian Route to Tadoussac:

* Segment 3: From Québec to Baie-Saint-Paul
Charlevoix, Région de Québec. 100 km (62 mi)

* Segment 4: From Baie-Saint-Paul to Tadoussac
Charlevoix, Manicouagan. 120 km (75 mi)

At Saint-Siméon (halfway between Baie-Saint-Paul and Tadoussac), take the ferry to Rivière-du-Loup, on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River. from there, follow the St. Lawrence back to Montréal through the Bas-Saint-Laurent, the Chaudière-Appalaches region, Québec, the Eastern Townships, and the Montérégie.

* Segment 6: From Rivière-du-Loup to Saint-Jean-Port-Joli
Bas-Saint-Laurent, Chaudière-Appalaches. 95 km (60 mi)

* Segment 5: From Saint-Jean-Port-Joli to Québec
Chaudière-Appalaches, Greater Québec Area. 95 km (60 mi)

* Segment 30: From Québec to Sherbrooke
Chaudière-Appalaches, Estrie, Greater Québec Area. Via Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce, 275 km (171 mi.); via Thetford Mines, 255 km (159 mi.)

* Segment 31: From Sherbrooke to Montréal
Estrie, Montérérégie, Montréal. Via Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, 265 km (165 mi.); via Rougemont, 180 km (112 mi.)
