  The old section of this town contains numerous buildings reminiscent of the 19th century.

• Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu Hot-Air Balloon Festival
  The biggest gathering of hot-air balloons in Canada. An impressive event that's a must for the month of August.

• This park is an excellent natural setting for outdoor activities. Beach and water sports at Lac Stukely. Centre d'arts Orford: exhibits of paintings and sculptures at this art center.

Waterloo

  A small town with old house built in the traditional Eastern Townships style.

• Festival international de la chanson
  Canada's most prestigious amateur singing contest. The festival has proved to be a springboard to success for a number of Québec performers (September).
