Montréal

Laval

• Saint-Vincent-de-Paul Penitentiary
  Former prison (1861-1988). Opening scheduled for 1993.

• Centre de la nature
  Laval's largest park, an example of the successful reuse of an abandoned quarry. Art and flower exhibits. Hiking. Canoe and kayak rentals.

• Symphonie de l'été
  Fireworks and an outdoor concert performed by the Laval Symphony Orchestra to celebrate the Québec's National Holiday (June 24).

Saint-Eustache

• Vieux-Saint-Eustache
  Tour three local historical sites in the Old Town.

Mirabel-Sainte-Scholastique

• Centre éducatif forestier du Bois-de-Belle-Rivière
  Gardens, hiking trails and interpretation of the forest riches of the Laurentians at this education center.

Oka

• Cistercian abbey
  On of the oldest monasteries in North America.

• Parc de récréation d'Oka
  The park offers a beach on Lac des Deux-Montagnes. Hiking. Water sports equipment rental. Also of interest are hillside Stations of the Cross, dating from the 18th century. Visitor reception and interpretation center: 7 km (45 mi) from Oka.

Carillon

• Carillon power station
  The largest hydroelectric plant on the Rivière des Outaouais, adjoining an impressive lock (20-meter/65.6 ft difference in level).

Calumet

• Rivière Rouge
  Whitewater rafting.

Montebello

• Manoir Louis-Joseph-Papineau
  Residence and funeral chapel built for Louis-Joseph Papineau, leader of the Patriote rebellion in 1837-1838.

Réserve faunique de Plaisance

• Wildlife reserve along the Rivière des Outaouais, home to many species of birds and mammals. Wetlands wildlife interpretation trails. Visitor reception center: 4 km (2,5 mi) from Plaisance.

• Festival des outardes
  Ornithological festival focusing on Canada geese at the Réserve faunique de Plaisance (wildlife reserve). Observation blinds, guides (April).
